Top 5: Most disappointing players of 2016-17 Premier League season

Jamie Vardy

Former Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri said that he will be willing to drop some of his title-winning heroes to avoid relegation and striker Jamie Vardy could well be one of these players. Well, it is not the ‘Tinkerman’s’ problem anymore!

The striker was one of the main stars to stand out from the whole of the top-flight last season, scoring 24 goals in 36 appearances and became the first-ever player to score in 11 consecutive Premier League matches.

This season, however, has painted an entirely different picture and the 30-year-old has unquestionably underachieved with statistics definitely backing this up.

The England international has not managed a shot on target since December 17 and has taken just 1.3 shots per game in 2016-17, as opposed to 3.2 in the last campaign.

He has just five goals and three assists in 22 league games this season.

This is so disappointing after the quality that he showed previously and fans at the King Power will certainly have been left frustrated with his performances.
