Dyer in action for West Ham.

After bursting onto the footballing scene with Ipswich Town, Kieron Dyer became an England international whilst at Newcastle United.

Many tipped the winger for great success for club and country, but injuries robbed him of his pace and ultimately of his footballing career.

Before retiring in 2013, the midfielder had been ruled out of action every single year since 2007, and in these final seven seasons, he only made more than 10 appearances twice. At West Ham, many feared his career was over when he broke his leg ten days after his debut.

Dyer never fully recovered and featured infrequently for both Queens Park Rangers and Middlesbrough before retiring.
