Chelsea sacked Jose Mourinho in December just six months after he won his third Premier League title with the club.

The ‘Special One’ didn’t succeed in the most unpredictable Premier League season in years but other bosses, some of which weren’t expected to do so well, have excelled in the first half of the season.

Palace are flying under Pardew

After moving from Newcastle to his beloved Crystal Palace a year ago, Alan Pardew has done a brilliant job with the Eagles, transforming them from relegation contenders into European hopefuls. One of the highlights was the win over current champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in August, while victories at Anfield and Stoke also show what the South London side are capable of. Palace had a brilliant summer, bringing in the likes Yohan Cabaye from PSG – a deal they probably wouldn’t have been able to do if Pardew, who worked with the player at Newcastle, wasn’t at the helm.
