On the final day of the Premier League, with both the bottom three and the champions already decided, attention turned to the battle for the European places.

Manchester United’s home game against Bournemouth was abandoned due to a bomb scare and neighbours Manchester City took advantage of this, drawing 1-1 at Swansea City to all but confirm their place in the Champions League, unless United can miraculously win by 19 goals when the fixture is played on Tuesday night.

United will surely instead have to settle for the Europa League, where they will be joined by Southampton after their 4-1 against Crystal Palace, as West Ham United lost at Stoke City and Liverpool could only draw 1-1 at West Bromwich Albion.

A mention must also go to the sides from North London, as Arsenal managed to finish above Tottenham Hotspur in second after they beat Aston Villa 4-0 and Spurs lost 5-1 at already relegated Newcastle United.

But with the season finally drawing to a close, who were the top performers?

5. Michail Antonio (West Ham United)

Antonio notched his eighth Premier League goal in what has been a fantastic debut season as his West Ham side eventually lost 2-1 at Stoke.

The 26-year-old showed fantastic composure to put the Hammers ahead as he controlled the ball in the area before firing into the bottom corner.

He continued to threaten, particularly in the first-half, as he picked out Diafra Sakho on two separate occasions, but the Senegal international failed to convert twice.
