Captain Davies continued his excellent start to the season with a commanding performance as Hull City suffered late heartbreak as Manchester United scored an injury-time winner at the KCOM stadium.

During the game he made 16 clearances and five blocks, more than anyone else on the pitch, as he dealt with the aerial power of Zlatan Ibrahimović and pace of Anthony Martial.

One of those blocks was on the line from a Wayne Rooney shot, but the former England Under-21 international could do nothing as Rooney found Marcus Rashford who bundled the ball home from close-range to condemn the Tigers to their first defeat of the season.
