In the summer of 2013, Chelsea landed France international Claude Makélélé from La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The defensive midfielder proved a huge hit at Stamford Bridge, winning two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup, helping him become one of the greatest-ever players in his position, leading many fans and pundits alike to dub his forte as the “Makélélé Role”.

He left The Blues for Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in July 2008.
