Arriving at the Boleyn Ground on the same day as fellow Argentine Javier Mascherano, in August 2006, former Corinthians forward Carlos Tevez proved the better buy for The Hammers – especially in his final appearance!

Despite controversy overshadowing his move to West Ham, the striker is classed as a ‘legend’ by some sections of supporters after single-handedly saving Alan Curbishley’s side from relegation on the final day of the 2006-07 Premier League season.

Tevez scored the only goal at Old Trafford to defeat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford, before joining The Red Devils a few months later.

He netted seven goals in 29 games during his sole season for The Hammers.
