Top 5: The Premier League’s most sought after relegation threatened stars

Andros Townsend

After falling out of favour at Tottenham and then really failing to make an impact at Newcastle United, the talk around Andros Townsend and his capabilities of playing at the top level, both at club and international level, has faded somewhat.

The midfielder had hoped that a switch back to London would solve his problems, but after having limited opportunities under former Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew and current boss Sam Allardyce, the 25-year-old is still struggling to rediscover his previous form.

However, with The Eagles just one point above the relegation zone, Townsend could well be on the move once again.

The former Spurs player is well used to moving, having been loaned out to nine different clubs before establishing himself as a first-team regular in the 2013-14 season.

There are no doubts about his talent, given the opportunity and reportedly he came close to re-joining Rafa Benitez’s Magpies back in January.

This could be a likely destination should Newcastle achieve promotion back to the top-flight in May and Palace make the drop down to the Championship.
