Top 5: Things to look out for before the end of the 2016-17 Premier League season

Golden Boot battle: Harry Kane v Romelu Lukaku

Spurs striker Kane.

Now that Spurs frontman Harry Kane has returned from injury, he and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku look set to go head-to-head for this year’s Golden Boot.

Whilst the English forward is looking to achieve back-to back Golden Boots, the Belgian international is getting closer and closer to equalling the record of Gary Lineker’s 30 goals in one top-flight season for Everton and this year will also see him top the club’s goalscoring charts for the third season running.

Lukaku is currently leading the way with 24 goals and, the great thing about this race is that realistically anything can happen and the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dele Alli, Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero cannot be ruled out until the final whistle blows on the last day of the Premier League season.

One big name that will be missing from this list is Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede superpassed all expectations this season by netting on 17 occasions, but his recent injury has put an end to his chances in this competition, as well as an end to his season and possibly even his Manchester United career.
