Top 5: Young Premier League stars impressing on loan

Leicester City striker Tom Lawrence is spending this season on loan with Ipswich Town.

The Welsh forward, who is currently enjoying his best campaign in professional football, has already made 20 appearances for the Tractor Boys.

He has five assists and five goals to his name, with the most recent of these coming in the form of a 30-yard screamer in a 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers at Portman Road.

Lawrence knows the Championship fairly well after spending time on loan at both Blackburn and Cardiff City last year, after failing to break in to the Leicester first-team.

Former Foxes boss Nigel Pearson signed the 23-year-old from Manchester United in September 2014, but the move has never really worked out for him, with current boss Claudio Ranieri reportedly looking to move him out of the club for good.

This would pose a problem for Mick McCarthy as his side are currently mid-table and with Derby County, Norwich City and Reading all interested in the forward, Ipswich would not be able to compete for his signature.
