Having already shown promise with his parent club Arsenal, Calum Chambers is spending this season on loan at Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough and, according to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, the 21-year-old is getting better with each game.

The young English defender has played a big part in Boro’s season and has featured in a large majority of their games, proving his versatility at both right-back and centre-back.

As well as being strong in the air, the Southampton academy graduate always looks to keep his side moving forward in the game and is extremely comfortable on the ball.

Karanka’s side have kept seven clean sheets this season and five of these have been when the Arsenal loanee has started, which only further demonstrates the impact of his presence.

Chambers unquestionably has a big future under Wenger and after he returns to the club at the end of this loan spell, it will be interesting to see whether he can challenge Hector Bellerin for the starting right-back spot.
