New footballing talents are constantly emerging across the world and whilst some of these individuals are already fast becoming household names, others are waiting in the wings to get the chance to impress and make their name in the footballing world.

In the Premier League; Dele Alli, Emre Can, John Stones, Marcus Rashford, Memphis Depay and Ross Barkley are all under the age of 23 and had particularly impressive Premier League campaigns during 2015/16.

Alli; in particular, raised the eyebrows of football fans across the nation in 2015/16 and is the current holder of the PFA Young Player of the Year award; with the likes of Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Kyle Walker having won the award within the last five years.

There will undoubtedly be lots of youngsters trying to make their mark this season and every team will be hoping that they can produce the next wonder kid.

Here are five of the best young talents, at the age of 21 or under, who could impress during the 2016/17 Premier League season…

5. Nathan Ake

Ake is definitely a name to watch out for this season.

Having made his debut for Chelsea at the age of 17, Ake went on to win the Young Player of the Season award for both Chelsea and Watford, before being included in the Young Players Team of the Year last season.

The 21-year-old is an accomplished left-back who is also more than capable of playing at centre-back and as a defensive midfielder.

The Chelsea youngster reached the FA Cup semi-final with Watford last year and will spend this season on loan at Eddie Howe’s AFC Bournemouth, as he seeks some further experience in the centre of midfield.
