Well, what a difference a fortnight makes!

Sunderland made it two wins on the spin at the Stadium of Light, comfortably beating Hull City 3-0.

The Black Cats had gone 11 matches without a win until the narrow triumph at AFC Bournemouth before the international break, but their latest victory over Hull lifts some pressure from the shoulders of manager David Moyes.

Veteran forward Defoe opened the scoring after 34 minutes, becoming the eighth player to reach the milestone of 150 career goals in the division.

In-form Anichebe extended Sunderland’s advantage in the second-half when he drilled in two goals of his own to confirm a first home win of the Premier League campaign.

Papy Djilobodji’s late red card didn’t unsettle the North East outfit, who face a trip to Anfield to play Liverpool next weekend.
