Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign Juventus forward Douglas Costa, according to Tuttosport.
The Italian outlet claim that the 28-year-old is also a target for Spurs’ Premier League rivals Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
Despite only making seven starts in Serie A this season, Juventus are not prepared to let Costa depart on the cheap and believe that the player is worth considerably more than the £34.1million they paid for him last summer.
After United reportedly had a £54million bid for the forward turned down in December, Spurs and chairman Daniel Levy will need to ditch their shrewd transfer policy if they are to secure Costa’s signature.
The former Bayern Munich man has been hampered by injury this season after making his loan from the Bundesliga outfit a permanent transfer in the summer.

He has missed Juve’s last nine games due to a hamstring injury and was unavailable for the first five games of the season with an ankle problem.
Following his move to Bayern from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in 2015 Costa was tipped as one of the most exciting young players in world football, but limited opportunities both in Germany and now Italy mean that the forward’s next move is key for his career progression.
