Out-of-favour Tottenham midfielder, Nabil Bentaleb has flown to Germany ahead of a move to Bundesliga outfit, Schalke, according to French magazine, L’Equipe.

The 21-year-old joined the Spurs youth ranks from French third tier outfit, Dunkuerque in 2012 and has made 66 first team appearances for the North London outfit, scoring one goal along the way.

The Algeria international is reportedly in Gelsenkirchen in order to complete his medical ahead of a loan move, which could be made permanent for a fee of €20m in the future.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side had reportedly turned down a £10m bid from Schalke, as they valued their midfielder at closer to £15m.

The 6’1″ defensive midfielder has reportedly asked to leave in the wake of Victor Wanyama’s arrival at White Hart Lane, and has been training with the U21s this week.

Should the deal for Bentaleb, who had been rumoured as being part of a swap deal for Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko, go through, he would be the first senior departure this summer.

Think Spurs could come clean and honest with their fans and tell us what’s up wi the n koudou transfer? It’s too much of a mystery and we hear off Spurs players leaving. Spurs could do with a creative type player as dembelesmiss is I think being felt.
