Tottenham’s dream spine come February

Despite costly errors against Manchester City last weekend, Hugo Lloris is still a world-class goalkeeper who will, over the course of a season, win points for Tottenham.

The French international headed Kevin De Bruyne’s searching pass straight at Leroy Sane to net City’s first, before dropping Raheem Sterling’s cross into the path of De Bruyne for the second.

Nonetheless, the 30-year-old, who signed a new contract at Spurs last month, has also had his fair share of impressive displays this season, most notably in their Champions League campaign and against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, which suggests that Saturday’s errors are nothing more than a mere blip.

Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the league, and will continue to lead by example and captain Spurs for a while yet.
