Leicester City are reportedly considering a surprise £20m move for Watford striker Troy Deeney this summer, according to The Sun.

The Foxes, who lifted the 2015/16 Premier League trophy aloft on Saturday following their 3-1 win over Everton inside the King Power Stadium, have thought to have identified the forward as one of their top summer transfer targets as Claudio Ranieri’s men prepare for the Champions League next term.

The 27-year-old, who earned support for a surprise call-up to the England national team earlier this campaign, has scored 13 goals and provided nine assists in 40 appearances in all competitions for the Hornets so far this season.

Deeney, who began his professional career with League One outfit Walsall, is said to be a long-term admirer of the newly crowned Premier League champions.

However top-flight rivals Arsenal were also linked with a £20m swoop for the Birmingham-born striker during the previous January transfer window, although it is not yet known whether the Gunners plan to re-ignite their interest beyond this season.
