Granit Xhaka’s elbow on Joe Allen may give Wenger cause for concern ahead of their trip to Everton.

The Swiss international had disciplinary issues earlier in the season but appeared to have got over them in recent times, yet he was very clumsy against the Potters on Saturday, and fortunate not to receive a booking.

Consequently, Wenger may take him out of the side to face the Toffees, which could mean a recall for Mohamed Elneny.

The Egyptian has started five times in the league for the Gunners this season, and has looked reasonably comfortable in the middle of the park.

He may get another start on Tuesday.
