West Ham United fans are clearly angered by Dimitri Payet’s decision to go on strike at the Premier League side, with the overwhelming majority wanting the club to sell the France international during the January transfer window.

Shoot! ran a Twitter poll on Monday to ask whether Hammers fans wanted the midfielder offloaded this month, or kept among their ranks until the summer, despite the player indicating he no longer wants to play for the London Stadium outfit.

Our poll result above clearly shows West Ham fans would rather see the back of Payet sooner than later, with 89 per cent of voters calling for the board to cash in on the want away star, with almost 1,000 people participating.

The 29-year-old, who joined The Hammers back in June 2015 following his reported £10.7m switch from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, has scored 18 goals and provided 25 assists in 66 appearances in all competitions.

Payet, who last featured as a substitute for Slaven Bilic’s side in the 5-0 FA Cup mauling to the hands of Manchester City on January 6, has been linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea and a possible return to Marseille this month.
