Slaven Bilic’s West Ham are targeting a summer move for Manchester City outcast Kelechi Iheanacho, according to The London Standard.

The Hammers have been unable to replicate their stunning seventh place finish in the Premier League last term in this campaign, with the East London outfit currently sat 12th in the table ahead of their trip to Burnley on the final day.

And part of their problem this term has been the lack of goals scored by their strikers, with Andy Carroll their top goal-scoring striker with just seven in the league, all from just 18 appearances, while the likes of Andre Ayew, Diafra Sakho, Jonathan Calleri, and Ashley Fletcher have bagged just seven between them.

Thus it’s no real surprise to see Bilic’s men linked with a move for Nigeria international Iheanacho in recent days, with the Hammers reportedly eyeing up a £20 million deal for the 20-year-old this summer.

The City forward has made just five Premier League starts under Pep Guardiola this term, the latest of which coming on January 2, and although he has bagged four goals in his 509 minutes of league action this season, the £8.5 million-rated (as per Transfermarkt) forward doesn’t look to have an immediate future at the Etihad Stadium.

And so a move away from the North West may well happen this summer, but with Ronald Koeman’s Everton also reportedly interested in Iheanacho, it very much remains to be seen where he ends up if he does indeed leave City.
