West Ham United have reportedly set their sights on trying to sign Croatia international striker Mario Mandzukic, according to TuttoMercatoWeb (via Football Insider).

The Premier League side, who visit Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge during their 2016/17 English top-flight opener on Monday 15 August, have been recently linked with a move for the Juventus forward ahead of the new campaign.

The 30-year-old, who has 69 international caps for his country and helped Croatia reach the Round of 16 at this summer’s European Championships in France, scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 36 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A champions last season.

Mandzukic, who has also played for Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid in the past, is the latest striker to be linked with a move to Slaven Bilic’s Hammers as they depserately try to lure a prolific forward to their Olympic Stadium.

However West Ham have already completed six signings this summer; including Ashley Fletcher, Toni Martinez, Sofiane Feghouli, Havard Nordtveit, Domingos Quina and Gökhan Töre.

he seems to be exactly what we want, not the superstar we were after to begin with, but with Calleri and Fletcher to help out AC, its starting to make sense.
