West Ham United have been linked with a summer move for Nigeria international forward Odion Ighalo, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Premier League club, who currently sit fifth in the standings after defeating Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park on Saturday, could pursue Watford’s top goalscorer this campaign should the Hammers miss out on top target Michy Batshuayi from Marseille come the end of the current 2015-16 campaign.
The 26-year-old, who has seven international caps for his country, has scored a remarkable 16 goals and provided five assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Hornets so far this season.
Ighalo, who originally arrived on loan at Vicarage Road from Italian outfit Udinese back in July 2014, was reportedly the subject of a failed £27m bid from an unnamed Chinese club during the January transfer window.
After Quique Sanchez Flores’ side rejected that previous approach, West Ham would most likely need to cough up more than £27m if they have any chance of landing Ighalo this summer.
