West Ham United are reportedly lining up a surprise summer move for Belgium international Nacer Chadli, according to the Brentwood Gazette.

The Premier League side, who came from two-nil down to defeat ten-man Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park earlier on today, are said to ready to test Tottenham’s resolve over their winger with a swoop for the £16m-rated star at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

The 26-year-old; who has 30 international caps for his country and could feature for Belgium at this year’s 2016 UEFA European Championships in France, has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 29 appearances in all competitions for Spurs so far this season.

Chadli, who arrived at White Hart Lane from FC Twente back in July 2013 in a deal worth around £7m, has been regularly held back in terms of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans given the admirable form of Dele Alli, Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen in midfield.

So with the Hammers bidding for UEFA Champions League football next term in their Olympic Stadium, Slaven Bilic’s side are ready to try their luck in landing the Spurs forward this summer.

Chadi plays regularly for Spurs in all competitions. A good team player who works hard, provides assists and scores goals. And that lovely smile of his! No wonder the supporters like him. He doesn’t strike me as someone wanting to move.
