West Ham United are reportedly closing in on the sale of Ecuador international forward Enner Valencia, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Insider).

The Premier League side, who finished seventh in the English top-flight standings last term during boss Slaven Bilic’s debut campaign with the Londoners, are understood to be close to offloading the striker to Lazio for a fee in the region of £10m.

The 26-year-old, who has 29 international caps for his country, scored five goals and provided three assists in 24 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers last season.

Valencia; who joined the Hammers from Pachuca back in July 2014 following his £12m switch, is set to complete a £1.7m season-long loan move to the Serie A outfit, with an obligation for Lazio to pay a further £8.3m in a permanent deal 12 months later.

The report suggests that West Ham are in advanced talks to complete the Ecuadorian’s exit, whilst fellow forward Diafra Sakho has handed in a transfer request this summer at the Olympic Stadium.
