It’s taken a while for Aaron Cresswell to be recognised by England, but he finally has a cap under his belt.

The West Ham defender, who has missed a large chunk of the season through injury, made his debut as a second half substitute against Spain on Tuesday, and performed reasonably well at left-back.

With Ryan Bertrand currently injured and Luke Shaw’s Manchester United future uncertain, Cresswell is up against Danny Rose in the battle for the left-back berth and, based on what we have seen of Cresswell this season and indeed last time out, he’s more than capable of nailing down the number one spot.
