Dimitri Payet was instrumental in France’s 2-1 win over Sweden in Paris on Friday night, in what was an emotional occasion at the Stade de France.

The game marked the one year anniversary of the atrocities in the French capital, and a minute’s silence was held to remember the 130 victims of the attacks.

On the pitch, it was Payet who produced a man-of-the-match display, first setting up Paul Pogba with a wonderfully weighted free-kick, and then getting himself on the scoresheet eight minutes later.

It goes without saying that the Frenchman will be key for the Hammers this season and, based on his brilliant display on Friday, they could struggle to keep hold of him in January.
