The remarkable story that is AFC Bournemouth just keeps motoring along.

The Cherries rose to eighth courtesy of a 1-0 win over champions Leicester on Tuesday, which is the highest league position ever occupied by the club in their 117-year history.

Marc Pugh’s first half strike was enough to see off the Foxes for a side that finished 21st in League Two just seven years ago.

It’s an incredible story, and one that manager Eddie Howe has been a massive part of, having taken over during that 2008/09 season and helping guide them to safety despite a 17-point deduction at the start of the campaign.

He deserves enormous credit for helping bring the club to the level they are at now.
