What’s Hot and What’s Not from an enthralling Premier League weekend

HOT – The title challengers

Chelsea and Tottenham once again proved why they are comfortably the best two teams in the Premier League with convincing victories over sides chasing European football next season.

Conte’s Blues breezed past Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park in a game many thought could spell trouble for the West London outfit, yet a wonder strike from Pedro as well as goals from Gary Cahill and Willian secured a routine victory for the visitors.

However, the pressure didn’t get to Pochettino’s Spurs who kicked off just half an hour later at White Hart Lane, as they comfortably saw off a below-par Arsenal 2-0 in what will be the last North London derby at the famous old ground.

Dele Alli and Harry Kane both netted as Tottenham demonstrated the sort of mental toughness which hasn’t always been evident in recent seasons, and they’ll have the chance to cut the gap to just one point should they beat West Ham on Friday night.

Ultimately though, this weekend proved how far ahead these two sides are, and how far they have come in the last 12 months or so.
