What’s Hot and What’s Not from an enthralling Premier League weekend

NOT – Those chasing a top four place

Liverpool are now odds-on favourites to secure a Champions League spot after beating Watford 1-0 on Monday, yet the other sides chasing a top four place endured disappointing weekends.

Pep Guardiola’s City twice had to come from behind to draw 2-2 away at second-bottom Middlesbrough, a side who up until that game had netted just 24 times in the league this term, while earlier in the day Manchester United drew for a tenth time at Old Trafford this season after Gylfi Sigurdsson’s stunning free-kick earned Swansea a deserved point in the North West.

And Arsenal and Everton both saw their top four chances all but end with defeats on Sunday afternoon – they’ll likely have to settle for a place in the Europa League next term.

It was a great weekend for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, but other than that, those other sides trying to clinch a Champions League spot didn’t take any advantage of the others’ slip-ups this weekend.
