Arsenal thumped FC Basel 4-1 and coupled with Paris Saint-Germain’s draw with Ludogorets means that Arsene Wenger’s side progress to the last 16 of the Champions League as group winners.

The Gunners were totally dominant over their Swiss opponents on Tuesday night, with Lucas Perez’s hat-trick and Alex Iwobi’s strike finishing off an excellent group stage campaign for Wenger’s men.

They would have gone into Tuesday’s game with little expectation of finishing top, but Hungarian champions Ludogorets produced a fine display to draw 2-2 at the Stade de France, which means the PSG missed out on what looked like a certain top spot in Group A.

Both sides still progress, but Arsenal will be thrilled to win the group for the first time since 2010, reducing their chances of drawing a tough tie in the knockout stages.

Nevertheless, the likes of Bayern Munich and one of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund will be lurking in Pot 2 in Monday’s draw but, with the way the Gunners are playing at present, they won’t fear any side in the competition.

It has been a hugely impressive campaign thus far from Wenger’s men, and here’s What’s Hot and What’s Not from their first six games…
