A lot has been made about Arsenal’s inability to top their Champions League group, and the subsequent tricky last 16 tie they inevitably fall at.

However, they have finally finished at the summit, five years since the last time they managed it.

Fourteen (14) points from six games is the most they’ve managed in the group stages since they reached the final in 2006, and it’s the first time they’ve gone unbeaten since that campaign as well.

There are still some dangerous sides lurking as runners-up, most notably Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but the confidence the Gunners get from finishing top will stand them in good stead against any side they are drawn against on Monday.
