What’s Hot and What’s Not from Arsenal’s Champions League campaign

NOT – Didn’t beat the better side

It’s difficult to be overly critical of Arsenal given they’ve gone through the group unbeaten and finished top, but their displays against PSG must be of concern to the Gunners faithful.

They were fortunate to get a point in the Stade de France in the first game back in September, with goalkeeper David Ospina to thank for getting them off to a solid start, but then they were second-best at the Emirates as well, and let slip a 2-1 lead with a few minutes to go.

While Wenger’s men deserve credit for getting something from both games, PSG arguably aren’t as good as they were a few years back, and probably won’t win the competition, yet Arsenal conceded twice to them at home, and over the two games were the inferior side.

Tougher challenges will come for Arsenal, and they’ll certainly have to perform better than they did against the other top side in their group when those matches come around.
