Leicester City’s wonderful Champions League campaign came to an end on Tuesday as they lost 2-1 on aggregate to last year’s runners-up Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals.

Craig Shakespeare’s side did well to only lose 1-0 in the Spanish capital last week to give themselves a chance at the King Power Stadium, but a Saul Niguez header after 26 minutes made their task infinitely more difficult.

But that didn’t deter the Premier League champions who threw everything at Diego Simeone’s side, and when Jamie Vardy scored on the hour mark, their tails were up and they once again sensed another magical European night in the Midlands.

However, it wasn’t to be for the Foxes, as a resilient Atletico side held firm to book their place in the semi-finals, and in turn ended a sensational Champions League run from Leicester.

The Foxes were the last English team standing in the competition after seeing both Manchester City and Arsenal exit at the last 16, and Tottenham fail to make it out of the group, but the Premier League will have to wait another year for one of their sides to life the European Cup.

So, in what was a majestic campaign from the Premier League champions, here is What’s Hot and What’s Not from Leicester’s remarkable Champions League run…
