What’s Hot and What’s Not from Tuesday’s Premier League action

HOT – Olivier Giroud

Bournemouth caused Arsenal several problems in the first half at the Vitality Stadium last night, and deservedly led 3-0 with just 20 minutes to go.

However, Olivier Giroud, fresh from scoring a stunning volley against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day, inspired an excellent comeback from Wenger’s men.

His flicked header found its way to Alexis Sanchez to head home their first, and then the Frenchman bagged his second assist of the night when he played in Lucas Perez, who brilliantly fired past Artur Boruc.

Giroud’s second half efforts were then duly rewarded with his third goal in as many games, as the striker rose highest to glance Granit Xhaka’s cross into the back of the net.

Three league starts, three goals for Giroud – it’s been a great Christmas and New Year for the 30-year-old.
