Richard Wright spent six successful years at Ipswich before making a £2 million move to Arsenal in 2001, as Wenger looked for a long-term number one for when David Seaman retired.

Wright signed a five-year contract at Highbury, but lasted just one season after being restricted to just 22 appearances in the 2001/02 campaign, only 12 of which were in the Premier League.

Spells at Everton, West Ham, Southampton, Ipswich, Sheffield United, and Manchester City followed, but he never really nailed down the number one spot at any of those clubs apart from in the occasional season, and he retired from the game last year.
