Defender Gilles Grimandi was in his final season at Arsenal when he played in their 4-0 win over United in the League Cup.

The versatile Frenchman signed at Highbury in 1997 and won two domestic doubles in his time in North London, the last of which coming in the 2001/02 campaign.

Grimandi made 113 appearances for the Gunners before leaving for the MLS in 2003 and, after having retired from the game that year, he is now the Arsenal chief scout in his homeland.
