Latvian international Igors Stepanovs was drafted to Arsenal following the injury to Tony Adams in 2000, and spent four years at Highbury before moving to Grasshopper.

The defender made just 31 appearances in his time with the Gunners, 17 of which were in the league, but he remained an integral member of the Latvia team throughout his time there, and went on the win 100 caps for his country.

Unsuccessful spells at a whole host of clubs followed after he left Grasshopper in 2006, and Stepanovs is now manager of the Latvia Under-17 side.
