Aluko’s contract was set to expire at the end of the 2011/12 season, with Rangers having the option of a year-long extension, however the player took the club to an employment tribunal over his objection to his contract being carried over.

Having left Ibrox he joined Hull City, where he remained until his contract expired in June this year. He has recently joined Championship side Fulham on a free transfer.
