Who could replace Slaven Bilic as West Ham manager?

Garry Monk

Former Swansea manager Garry Monk has done an excellent job stabilising things at Leeds United, but their inability to hold onto a play-off place could cost him dearly.

The 38-year-old took over at Elland Road last summer following the departure of Steve Evans, and although he made a slow start to life at the Championship outfit, he steadied the ship and had Leeds in the top six for much of the campaign.

However, recent poor results looks set to cost the Yorkshire club a place in the play-offs, and reports recently suggest that Monk may lose his job as a result, what with Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani playing a more prominent role behind the scenes after buying a 50% stake in the club back in January.

Yet that could be good news for West Ham, as Monk has previous experience of Premier League football with Swansea, with many seeing the Swans’ decision to part company with him back in December 2015 as particularly harsh.

He probably feels that he has unfinished business in the top tier, and could be the man to replace Bilic at the London Stadium.
