Name: John Terry
At the club since: 1998
Not only his beloved club’s current longest-serving player, but also the Premier League’s current longest-serving star – John Terry.
The 35-year-old, who captained his country and has racked up an impressive 78 international caps for England between 2003 and 2012, is a firm fans favourite at Stamford Bridge having stayed at Chelsea his entire professional career.
Terry, who in fact enjoyed a short loan spell at Championship side Nottingham Forest back in 2000, graduated through the Blues’ youth academy before making his first-team debut against Aston Villa in the League Cup back in October 1998.
Since then, the commanding centre-half has made a staggering 669 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 63 goals and providing 29 assists in the process.
However; even with five FA Cup winner’s medals, four Premier League titles and one Champions League crown under his name, plus having featured 31 times this season, Terry is set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer as the defending Premier League champions have not offered the defender a new contract.
