Why Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain simply must leave Arsenal this summer

Left out of last England squad

Oxlade-Chamberlain made his England debut all the way back in 2012 just before the European Championships, and his displays in that tournament and in the few years that followed indicated that he was a player for the future.

However, it hasn’t quite worked out like that for the 23-year-old who, albeit hindered by injury, didn’t make Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2016 squad, and was also left out of Gareth Southgate’s most recent squad for the games against Scotland and Spain in November.

In fact, Oxlade-Chamberlain didn’t appear once for England in 2016, and although he made Southgate’s first squad back in October, he didn’t feature then either.

Clearly, his lack of first team football is hindering his chances of nailing down a place in the England team, which will be of disappointment to many English fans who saw Oxlade-Chamberlain make quite the impact back in 2012.

Thus, a move may be necessary to get his international career up and running once again.
