BT Sport pundit Harry Redknapp reckons Bournemouth midfielder Jack Wilshere could play in any team, although doesn’t expect him to be at the Vitality Stadium next season.

The England international has spent the campaign on the South Coast on loan from Arsenal, and has started 19 times in the Premier League for Eddie Howe’s men, failing to net but laying on two assists for the Cherries.

The 25-year-old has in recent weeks struggled to get into the Bournemouth starting eleven, and was once again left out of the line-up in their 0-0 draw with Southampton on Saturday, yet 70-year-old Redknapp has been impressed with his efforts for the Cherries this season.

The BT Sport pundit told Shoot!: ‘I think he’s been good ever since he’s been there.

‘He’s an absolute top player, but it’s difficult because Eddie’s [Howe] favourite two have been Arter and Surman, so it’s difficult.’

However, Wilshere’s long-term future is far from certain, with the midfielder admitting a few weeks ago that he’s not sure where he’ll be at the start of next season, although Redknapp reckons that one place he won’t be is Bournemouth.

The 70-year-old told Shoot!: ‘I don’t see him on the South Coast.

‘I think Jack could play in any team. I think he’ll go back to Arsenal and either stay there or get a big move somewhere else.’

Wilshere wasn’t selected by Gareth Southgate for the most recent England squad, although did get a call-up back in November after making a solid start to life with Bournemouth.

Nonetheless, his future is far from certain, but what is clear is that he is still a supremely talented footballer, and one who can make a huge difference for both club and country.
