2 players that should have left West Ham in January

Young striker Ashley Fletcher moved to West Ham last summer after failing to make a single appearance for Manchester United.

The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Championship side Barnsley before making the move to East London, but his first team struggles have continued at the London Stadium, starting just three games in all competitions thus far.

And, given that Bilic’s men were seriously struggling in front of goal earlier in the campaign, for Fletcher not to get much of an opportunity suggests where he is in the pecking order at the club.

Thus, a January move wouldn’t have been much of a surprise, and it looked like he was going to join Leeds on loan for the rest of the season, but no deal materialised.

With Andy Carroll firing in the goals, Jonathan Calleri contributing, and Andre Ayew having returned from the African Cup of Nations recently, first team chances will be even harder to come by for Fletcher in the second half of the season.
