3 England stars that could follow Jack Wilshere to Manchester City this summer

One of City’s biggest issues this season has been the form of goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, who may be good with his feet, but ultimately he hasn’t proved to be a good enough shot-stopper in England yet.

Thus, with Willy Caballero 35 and clearly not the long-term option, and Joe Hart’s future at the Etihad all but over, Guardiola could turn his attentions to finding another number one, and that man could be Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford.

The 22-year-old earned his first call-up to the senior squad last year after an impressive start to the season with the Black Cats, in which time he received much praise for keeping David Moyes’ side in games against Tottenham and West Brom.

A ligament injury has kept him out for a large chunk of the season, yet Pickford returned to the team against Everton last month, and although he conceded twice to the Toffees and twice to Manchester City last week, he made several key saves to keep the margin of defeat down.

Pickford is clearly a goalkeeper for the future, but he’s also capable in the present, and potentially the next City number one.
