Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admitted back in October that he may have to consider his future at the club if he isn’t given regular gametime by Arsene Wenger.

And, although he started the defeats to Liverpool and Bayern Munich in the last few days, he is still yet to nail down a regular first team berth.

The 23-year-old has made 22 Premier League appearances for the Gunners this season, half of which have come off the bench – all this despite embarking on his best goal-scoring campaign to date having netted six times in all competitions.

Clearly, Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t really got the first team football he had hoped for, and City may keep an eye on him over the coming months, as he has the pace, intelligence, willingness to defend, and desire to take players on that could be invaluable in Guardiola’s team.

The England star has played in the centre of midfield for Arsenal in recent weeks and done well, and that could certainly be of interest to the City manager.
