3 England stars that need to secure a move in January

Eric Dier has appeared 25 times for Tottenham so far this season, but in only five of those has he played the position that he does for England.

The 22-year-old has been drafted in as a centre-back for much of the campaign due to the injury to Toby Alderweireld and, with Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele ahead of him in the defensive midfield pecking order, playing in defence seems to be his best bet at present.

However, once Alderweireld returns to full fitness, he’ll go straight into the centre of defence alongside Jan Vertonghen, which leaves Dier out of favour in both positions on the pitch.

Dier has been excellent for England in the defensive midfield position, but it’s difficult to see how he can get into the Spurs eleven if everyone is fit.

He has been loosely linked with a move away in January in a bid to play more regularly and, for the sake of his England future, it might be something he seriously considers next month.
