It’s fifth versus sixth in League Two this evening as out-of-form Carlisle United host Nathan Jones’ Luton Town at Brunton Park.

The home side have lost their last four league games, conceding nine goals in that time, which has seen them slip from third place and five points clear of fourth on February 18, to fifth and four points adrift of Portsmouth in the final automatic promotion spot.

It means that this evening’s clash against the Hatters takes on even greater significance as Keith Curle’s men are only six points clear of eighth place Mansfield Town, and defeat tonight would also see Luton leapfrog the Cumbrians in the table.

Jones’ side also lost their last league match, although it’s no disgrace to lose to Stevenage in the form they are in, but before then they had lost just one of their ten league games, winning five.

The Hatters are clearly tricky to beat, and in the form Carlisle are in, the visitors will certainly fancy their chances this evening.
