3 midfielders Arsenal should look to sign in January

Arsenal are looking to end a 12-year wait for the Premier League title this season, and they’ve made a start which suggests that they may not have to wait too much longer.

Arsene Wenger’s side are unbeaten in their 14 matches in all competitions, which includes six Premier League victories, and two Champions League successes.

Add in two comfortable wins over Championship opposition in the League Cup, and the Gunners are one of the most in-form teams in Europe over the past few months.

A draw at home to Middlesbrough last weekend sent them top of the league for 24 hours, when they were replaced by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City after they also drew at home, but only goal difference separates the two sides, and indeed Liverpool, at the top.

Wenger’s side are also well-placed to qualify from their Champions League group. They are level on points with Paris Saint-Germain at the top and, given that they host the French champions in their penultimate match, the Gunners will feel confident of topping the group.

Despite their great start, Wenger may feel that he needs more reinforcements to sustain a challenge in both competitions in the second half of the season, so here are THREE midfielders the Arsenal boss could look to sign in the window…
