3 midfielders Celtic should look to sign in January

Darren Fletcher has proved throughout his Premier League career what an important player he is, although his contributions go largely unnoticed.

The West Brom man made 342 appearances at Manchester United over a 12-year stint at Old Trafford, and you don’t play that many times for United if you’re not a decent player.

The 32-year-old struggled with illness near the end of his time in Manchester, but he has bounced back admirably at West Brom, and continues to prove to be a dependable midfielder for Tony Pulis’ side.

However, the Scottish international’s contract is up at the Hawthorns at the end of the season and, as a boyhood Celtic fan, he may feel that the time is right to leave West Brom.

He’s a player that would hugely benefit Celtic’s squad, both in terms of playing ability, but also experience.
