With Alexis Sanchez reportedly involved in a training ground bust-up, both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil yet to sign new long-term deals at the club, five defeats in seven and embarrassed in the Champions League, things appear to be unravelling at the Emirates.

And it doesn’t look like Wenger seems able to stop it happening.

The results on the pitch appear to reflect the bad vibes coming out of the club at the moment, and as much as Wenger is putting on a brave face at press conferences and interviews, the fans are getting increasingly restless, and the results and performances aren’t regularly where they need to be.

So, if Arsenal is in Wenger’s best interests, he will surely know that the best thing to do this summer is step aside.
